The Heart Test Thy Kingdom Come

Written by Shedrick Winfield on .

We have been encouraging you from the “Our Fathers” prayer which should be the attitude of our heart, not just prayer recitations.

This should be the attitude of our heart that pleases God. Let's look at the statement “thy kingdom come.”

The word kingdom means dominion, which is a realm where God’s rule and reign is always honored at all time!

In the book of Daniel, he understood that there would be four major world-powers and during the fourth empire God would replace human kingdoms with His kingdom.

(Daniel 2:44) God’s kingdom will be set up and would never be destroyed, nor shall the kingdom be left to another people. It shall break in pieces all these kingdoms and bring them to an end, and it shall stand forever.

We are taught to "Pray a prayer, and when you die, you will go to heaven."

But Jesus says, if you have a prayerful attitude in your heart for God’s will, now you will experience heaven in your life right now.

How encouraging is that?

His kingdom will be established where you desire Him to be honored!

If we block off areas of in our life from Jesus' rule, then we will not fully experience His love and power for your life. It’s common for us, as people, to give Him our job but not our marriage, children but not our finances, businesses but not schools, alcohol but not abusive language and behavior - but the good news is that if our desire is for Jesus to be honored on earth in every area of our life, heaven will reign!

He will give you the desires of your heart! It won’t just be momentary effects but will be eternal as well!

Today, if you have a situation that is challenging you, or troubling you, invite Jesus to establish His kingdom in your circumstance.

He will work things out in a way that will show how faithful and trustworthy He is - you won’t be the hero in the story, He will be. It will leave Him in honor and glory!

May your heart’s desire be to live a life that honors Jesus now, not when we give to heaven.
