Effectual Prayer

Written by Butch LaBauve on .

There is a spiritual realm we can live in to have what we ask of God. The Bible states “The effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” James 5:16.

The “avails much” is God’s best for his people. Prayer is true communication with the Father, in the name of Jesus by Holy Spirit. This is a position of precision and accuracy. Effectual, fervent prayer gets God’s results.

No prayer and wrong prayer reap the same results, NOTHING!

Romans 8:26 states “The Spirit also helps in our weakness. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the spirit himself makes intercession for us.”

Have you ever asked and not received, sought and not found, and knocked and no one was there? Why? Because of your weakness, weariness, unbelief, cares, offenses, unforgiveness and leaning on your own understanding.

“But let him ask in faith” James 1:6-8.

You will never receive anything significant praying outside of God’s word with the wrong heart. We must always pray correctly. God’s will is His Word! Most Christians say they don’t have time to pray. Everything that you are trying to maintain, guard and govern needs the Lord’s approval and leadership. Everything you are involved in outside of God’s will needs His guidance to get out of it.

When you fellowship with the Lord, you will receive insight, counsel, ingenuity, creativity, and wisdom. I was praying one day, and the Lord spoke in my spirit that I would be given a really nice watch. I had no clue in the natural and I already had a good watch.

During a meeting, I noticed a pastor turning around and taking off his beautiful gold watch. When he came my way, I stuck out my wrist boldly, smiled, and thanked the man as he latched the band on my wrist. He was as confident to give it as I was to receive it! We both had been fellowshipping with the same God!

When you fellowship with the Lord, He may tell you to give, forgive, change this or stop that.   The Lord always has our best interest in mind. Start your new prayer life today and expect to receive. Busyness, tight schedules, and the race to make money shouldn’t ever be an excuse for not fellowshipping with the Lord, but only an invitation to go to Him!
