Family Structure: The Role of Children

Ephesians 6:1-3 "Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;) That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth."

The focal point of a child pleasing the Lord is centered around their obedience to their parents. Parents are mediators between children and God, while children are too young to have a full and mature relationship with God themselves. The parent is the closest thing to God's authority for the child.

I was directed to the fact French actor Gerard Depardieu renounced his French citizenship over the 75% tax on “millionaires and billionaires”. This was the latest attempt to punish successful citizens for their ability to create jobs, fiscal growth and energize the economy of their parent nation.

Thanks to the Lord!

During the months of November and December, it seems like the focus of the holiday season gets pushed aside a little bit, and we all get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the season.

Maybe a family trip back home for Thanksgiving, or having a Christmas party or two to attend, and all the hubbub of the holidays take over and we forget the importance of this time of year.

In 1927, Andrew Kehoe, was angry and wanted revenge. A School Board member (he was treasurer and caretaker of the school) his farm was foreclosed upon after the community and school-district passed a tax to build a centralized school. Kehoe felt this was the reason for his foreclosure.
