Evidently a certain segment of society has immunity from arrest and prosecution for riding motorized vehicles on top of the levee known as the Heritage Trail. It is quite prevalent every afternoon between 5 p.m. and dark, especially on weekends.
I sure would like to see some vehicles confiscated or $500 fines levied. It seems like the Parish has severe liability if a walker, biker or heaven forbid a young child is injured or killed by someone violating the law on the trail because the law was not strictly enforced.
