A resident of Port Allen, she died on Sunday, August 19, 2018, at age 74. Visitation on Saturday from noon until service at 2pm at Poplar Grove Baptist Church. She is survived by three daughters, Debra Spears, Tammie Spears and Cynthia Spears; son, Ronald Spears; two brothers, Joseph Franklin and McArthur Franklin; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchil-dren and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Edna Franklin; father Henry Franklin; son, Gregory Spears; five brothers and five sisters.

Stanley Roy Lee
Stanley Roy Lee, 71, “Roy”, a resident of Clinton, LA died on Wednesday, August 22, 2018. He was retired from Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development. Roy was a veteran of the US Army and he served in Vietnam. There was a visitation on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at the Olive Branch Baptist Fellowship from 9am until funeral services at 11am, conducted by his son-in-law, Dr. Philip Robertson. He is survived by three daughters, Sandy Robertson and her husband Philip of Pineville, LA; Stacy Andrews and her husband Micah of Clinton; Cristy Graham and her husband Justin of Slaughter, LA; his mother, Mary Castello Lee of Clinton; two sisters, Judy Kilcrease and Gayle Kilcrease; three brothers Hardy “Buddy” Lee; Robert Lee and wife Carol; Bradley Lee and wife Peggy; eight grandchildren: Whitney, Lexie, Kylee and Addi Robertson, Ethan and Gavin Andrews, and Madison and Jace Graham. A resident of Addis, she died on Monday, August 13, 2018, at age 63. Visitation was held on Friday, August 24, from noon until 4 pm at Grant’s Westside Funeral Services. Visitation resumed on Saturday, 9 am until funeral service at 11 a.m. at Zion Travelers Baptist Church, 11900 Pointe Coupee Road, New Roads, conducted by Rev. Clyde McNeal. Interment will be in Chenal Cemetery. She is survived by her foster mother, Delores Littleton; children, Shaletta Belone (Thomas), Amanda Belone, Cassandra Belone (Kelvin) and Justin Belone (DeShawn); KarMicheal Coleman whom she loved like a son; six sisters, Ethel Stovall (Larry), Rev. Burnette Armstrong, Rhonda Crowley, Carolyn Williams, Gwen Dupre (Troy) and Wanda Foster (Rev. J. Foster); five brothers, Jerald Lee Edwards, Larry Edwards, Lorenzo Edwards, Terrance Crowley and Anthony Ray Edwards; 14 grandchildren including a dedicated granddaughter, Markeisha Belone; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Marsha Lynette Grant (Spriggs) passed away peacefully on Wednesday August 22, 2018 with her family by her side in Baton Rouge, LA. Per Marsha’s request there won’t be a service. Grant (Spriggs) was born to Erma Javius in Brusly, LA on May 30, 1953. Marsha graduated from Brusly High School. She married Louis Grant, Sr of Plaquemine, LA. on January 16, 1977. Marsha retired from the University of Minnesota where she worked as a Caterer and Barista. Marsha is preceded in death by her mother Erma Javius, grandmother Edna Spriggs, grandfather Earnest Spriggs and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and in laws. Marsha is survived by husband Louis Grant, Sr, son Louis Grant, Jr (Tiffany), daughters Jessica Newton (Leonard) and Natalie Johnson (Andre). Grandchildren Jaylen Newton, Amere Anderson, Kamaria and Kiara Newton, Braden, Tatum and Blake Johnson. As well as a host of other family and friends. The family would like to extend our most sincerest gratitude to all the doctors and nurses at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge, LA.
