– SLS 18RS-195)

Public notice is hereby given that there may be introduced
at the session of the Legislature to be convened on March 12, 2018, a
bill relative to creation of an infrastructure authority comprised of all
territory within the geographical boundaries of the parishes of East
Baton Rouge, West Baton Rouge, Iberville, Ascension and
Livingston; to provide for the governance of the authority and for the
powers and duties of the authority and its governing body; to provide
for levy or assessment of certain fees and tolls and for issuance of
bonds and other evidences of indebtedness; and to provide for related
matters.

NOTICE TO BIDDERS

Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received by the
Administration office of the West Baton Rouge Parish Council until
10:00 am Tuesday March 20, 2018 for One (1) new current year
model tandem truck chassis with KB-222 truck mounted Knuckle
Boom Loader with hydraulic joystick stand up controls with 2030
dump body or equal.

Bids will be opened and publically read aloud 10:00 am Tuesday
March 20, 2018.
All bids shall be submitted in a sealed envelope by the dealer and
marked to indicate the above item. Detailed specifications and proposal forms can be obtained from the Parish Council Office located
in the Governmental Building, 880 North Alexander Avenue, Port
Allen, Louisiana, between the hours of 8:00am and 5:00pm Monday
through Thursday and between 8:00 am and 12:00pm Friday, or by
calling 225-383-4755, except holidays.

These specifications are only used to denote the quality standard of
product desired and not necessarily restrict bidders to a specific
brand, make manufacturer, or named specification. The specifications are used only to set forth and convey to prospective bidders and
general style, type, character, and quality of the product desired.
Equivalent or better products will be acceptable.

Prospective bidders must have a dealer certified mechanic shop capable of providing all warranty requirements as a pre-requisite to bidding.
No bid bond is required for this project

No bidder may withdraw his bid for at least 30 days after the time
scheduled for the opening of bids. Each proposal shall be submitted
only on the proposal form authorized by this office.

The West Baton Rouge Parish Council reserves the right to reject any
and all bids or to accept any bid which in the opinion of the Parish
Council will be in the best interest of the parish.

Public notice is hereby given, as provided by Section 13, Article III
of the Constitution of Louisiana, that there will be introduced at the
forthcoming session of the Legislature of Louisiana, to be convened
on March 12, 2018, a bill or bills relative to economic and infrastructure development in the parishes of Ascension, East Baton Rouge,
East Feliciana, Iberville, Livingston, Pointe Coupee, St. Helena, St.
James, St. Landry, St. Martin, West Baton Rouge, and West Feliciana;
to create a special district or districts comprised of area in these
parishes; to provide for the taxing authority of such a district, including the authority to levy a sales and use tax or a tax on motor fuels;
to provide for district governance; to provide for the powers and
duties of any such district, including the power to enter cooperative
endeavor agreements with state and local entities and to fund infrastructure improvements; and to provide for related matters.

SECTION 00050 ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
West Baton Rouge Parish Government (herein referred to as the
"Owner") hereby solicits sealed bids for the
2018 Asphalt Road
Rehabilitation Program project described as follows:
STATEMENT OF WORK (PEC Project No. 11353):
Base Bid – Asphalt road patching, cold planing, soil cement/ lime
treatment of base, asphalt overlay, shoulder material, striping,
markers and associated appurtenances.

Sealed Bids shall be addressed to the West Baton Rouge Parish
Government, and delivered to the Parish Office at 880 North
Alexander Avenue, Port Allen, LA 70767 (P. O. Box 757) not later
than 2:00 p.m., on the 7th day of March, 2018. Any bid received
after the specified time and date will not be considered. The sealed
bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at 2:00 p.m. on the 7th
day of March, 2018, at the West Baton Rouge Parish Government
office located at 880 North Alexander Avenue, Port Allen, LA
70767.
The Owner has chosen the method of plan distribution to be via hard
copies of the plans and specifications pursuant to LA R.S. 38:2212 as
available through the office of the Engineer.

The Instructions to Bidders, Bid Form, Contract, Plans,
Specifications, and Forms of Bid Bond, Performance Bond and
Payment Bond, and other bidding documents may be examined at the
Office of the Engineer for the contract; Professional Engineering
Consultants Corp. located at 7600 Innovation Park Drive, Baton
Rouge, La 70820; (225-769-2810). Copies shall be obtained at this
office upon payment of a deposit of $150.00. This deposit will be
refunded upon request in accordance with R.S. 38:2212. Validation
of the Contractor’s license and classifications will be made prior to
release of bid documents.

Pursuant to the Louisiana Revised Statute, vendors/contractors now
have the option to submit their bids and bid bonds, electronically.

Contractors submitting bids shall be licensed under LA R.S. 37:21502164, Highway, Street and Bridge Construction. The bidder shall
show his license number on the bid and on the sealed envelope submitting the bid.

The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids for just cause;
such actions will be in accordance with Title 38 of the Louisiana
Revised Statutes.
In accordance with R.S. 38:2212 (A)(1)(b), the provisions and
requirements stated in the Bidding Documents shall not be waived by
any entity.

Each Bidder must deposit with his/her bid, security in the amount of
at least five percent (5%) of the total bid price, provided on the specified form and subject to the conditions provided in the Information
for Bidders. Sureties used for obtaining bonds must appear as acceptable on the U. S. Department of Treasury Circular 570.

No bidder may withdraw his/her bid within forty-five (45) days after
the actual date of the opening thereof.
