To kick off the Mardi Gras celebration, Catholic Elementary of Pointe Coupee’s 6th Grade students presented the first Krewe of 6th Parade last week.

The 6th grade students voted on the theme, Louisiana Traditions. They also planned, created and worked on everything themselves, using items from home, donations from parents, or items they had found in the classroom.

The 6th grade class selected a Mardi Gras Queen, “Queen Granger” (5th/6th grade Math teacher), to be presented during the parade.  Elementary students lined the hallways as the Krewe of 6th Parade rolled through throwing beads, candy and more.
