Former West Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Deputy Ben Arceneaux turned himself in to authorities on Monday, December 17. A grand jury indicted Arceneaux on malfeasance Friday, December 14 after six hours of deliberation, prosecutor Scotty Chabert said.

A grand jury convened in November but requested more information before indicting him in December.

Earlier this year, the WBRZ Investigative Unit reported Arceneaux was suspended for allegedly stalking and sexually assaulting a woman while on duty. After the story broke, several women came forward alleging the same behavior.

An exact number was not provided, but Chabert said more than one woman testified during the grand jury hearing.
