Earl Lejandrea Coleman, Jr. was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on November 9, 1954 He was the first child born to Susiana Marie Wilson Coleman and Earl Lejandrea Coleman, Sr. He was baptized at McKowen Baptist Church at an early age. A faithful servant of God, he was ordained as a minister on April 5, 2014 by Pastor Guevara Johnson at Interdenominational Faith Assembly. Earl especially enjoyed singing in the choir. He is a 1972 graduate of Glen Oaks High School and attended Southern University in Baton Rouge. He completed his education at Control Data Institute in Dallas, Texas, and then began his career as a computer technician in Longview, Texas. While in Texas, he began pursuing his passion of flying. He moved back to Baton Rouge where, in June 1976, he began a successful 37- year career at ExxonMobile Chemicals as a Meter and Instrument Technician until his retirement in 2013. He was a devoted husband to Cynthia Dotch Coleman, his wife of nearly 31 years, and a loving father to three sons: Jonathan D. Dotch, The’Man L. Dotch and Earl L. Coleman, III. Earl and Cynthia called Zachary, Louisiana, home until he transitioned on May 30, 2018. To his last day, Earl was considered by his family, friends and colleagues as the kindest person with the biggest heart, and known as a man with wisdom and integrity. He is survived by his wife Cynthia D. Coleman, three loving sons; Jonathan D. Dotch, I (Selena), The’Man Dotch (Bianca) and Earl L. Coleman, III; his brother Maurice J. Coleman, Sr. (Allison); his sisters-in-law Marsha Dotch, Linda Winnfield (Michael) Zadie Gavin, and Janice Dotch; his grandchildren Qiana Dotch, Breanna Dotch, Ariana Dotch, Jonathan Dotch, II, Khe’mani Dotch, Jhalen Dotch and Tamryn Dotch; nieces Bandy Hunt, Angel Gavin, Laibrooke Moses, Miracle Winnfield and Christianna Winnfield; nephews Maurice Coleman, Jr., Miles Coleman and Joshua Dotch. He is also survived by his father-in-law; J. B. Dotch (Gladys), his uncle James “Wilbur” Coleman (Ruby), his aunt Aolar Wilson; his godson Everett Hayes and a host of cousins, relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Earl L. Coleman, Sr. his mother, Susiana W. Coleman, mother-in-law Beverly Dotch Weatherspoon and brother-in-law John Gavin, Jr. Services held on June 8, 2018, at Living Faith Christian Center, 6375 Winbourne Ave., Baton Rouge, LA 70805.
