Mary Franklin “Louise” Gage

Mary Franklin (Louise) Gage entered into eternal rest on December 27, 2019 at the age of 66. Survived by her husband, Willie B. Gage; daughter, Angela Gage; grandchildren, Cedrick and Amyra DeRouen. Services entrusted to Hall Davis and Son. Visitation Saturday, January 4, 2020 9:00 am until religious service at 11:00 am, Mount Herman Baptist Church, 1293 N. 36th St., Baton Rouge, LA. Reverend Albert Anderson, III officiating. Interment Mount Pilgrim Benevolent Society Cemetery. 


Betty Honore

Betty Honore, a resident of Rougon, LA, died at 6:59 p.m. on Wednesday January 1, 2020, at the age of 81 at Baton Rouge General Hospital. A retired school bus driver (22 years of service) for Pointe Coupee, she was a caregiver for most of her life as well as an excellent cook. She was a devoted Catholic and prayed the rosary and Divine Mercy Chaplet daily. She is survived by her loving family, five children and their spouses -Philomena Fontenot, Oscar, LA; Celeste (Michael) Barbre, New Orleans, LA; Shawn (Sheila) Honore, Gunter, TX; Stacey (Victor) Jones, Dallas, TX and Mary Jean (Terrence) Tucker, Memphis, TN; twelve grandchildren -Leslie, Valerie, Vincent, Tracie, Clayton, Natalie, Jenna, Victor, Lauren, Madison, Zoe, and Xavier; six great-grandchildren -Nicholas, Abigail, Alcide IV, Ava Genevieve, Blaine and Sebastian, with two new arrivals anticipated in 2020. She is survived by her brother -Paul Kerry (Cecilia) Patin, Sr.; brothers and sisters-in-law -Ophelia Patin, Jimmy (Aline) Honore, Alvin (Susan) Honore, Russel (Beverly) Honore, Mary McAtee, Lorraine (Miller) Darensbourg, and Pete (Jackie) Honore and numerous nieces, nephews, and godchildren. Preceded in death by her husband of 45 years Clarence Joseph (Cookie) Honore and daughter Sherrie Marie; parents - Emzie and Maude Patin; sister -Jean Monget, and brothers -Ronald and Joseph Patin. Services entrusted to Hall Davis and Son. Visitation on Saturday, January 4, 2020, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 12369 Hwy 416, Lakeland, LA. Rosary to be recited at 11:00 a.m. Funeral mass at 12:00 p.m. conducted by Fr. Todd Lloyd. Burial at Chenal Cemetery in Jarreau, LA.


Marjorie E. Young Herbert

Marjorie E. Young Herbert, 86, lifelong resident of Plaquemine, LA, passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2019, at Our House for Respite, Inc., surrounded by her loving family. She was the retired Executive Director of Lemoyne Community Action, Inc., and former Licensed Funeral Directress of Good Citizen’s Mortuary in Plaquemine. Services entrusted to Hall Davis and Son. Visitation will be from 4-6PM, immediately followed by Celebration of Life on Sunday, January 5th at Mt. Zion Inner City Church, 24400 Eleanor Drive, Plaquemine, Rev. Ricardo L. Handy, Sr., Pastor. Visitation resumes at 9AM followed by funeral services on Monday, January 6th at 10AM at Hurst United Methodist Church, 58165 Court Street, Plaquemine, Rev. Elva Jacobs, Pastor, who will officiate both Services. She is survived by 3 sisters, Birdean Young Bates and Verly Young Polk (Eric) of Plaquemine, and Geral Dee Young Richardson of Suitland, Maryland; 2 brothers, Huey Young, Sr. and Clifton Young, Sr. (Sheila) of Plaquemine; sisters-in-law, Blyola Young and Delores Young of Plaquemine; 12 nieces, 28 great-nieces, 15 great-great nieces, 23 nephews, 42 great-nephews, and 27 great-great nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, George J. Herbert; parents, Henry Young, Sr. and Verly Mae Martin Young; 2 brothers, Henry Young, Jr. and Calvin Young, Sr.; and 2 sisters, Pauline Young Handy and Gloria Faye Young Woolfolk. Internment at Louisiana National Cemetery, Zachary. 


Roger Burrel Bailey

Roger Burrel Bailey passed away peacefully Friday, December 27,2019 at his home in Denham Springs, LA, he was 68 years old. He is preceded in death by his parents Horace B. Bailey and Mildred Marie LeBlanc, daughter Melissa Bailey, and brother Bobby Glen Bailey. Survived by his loving wife Patti Roberts Bailey, stepson Eric Allen, granddaughters Ayla, Ava and Ana, sisters Linda Hardester and Bonnie Woolf, brothers Ned Bailey and Ted Bailey, and many nieces and nephews. Roger graduated from Port Allen High School, attended Southeastern Louisiana University and Louisiana State University where he was a member of the Golden Band from Tiger Land. He was a lifelong Tiger fan and retired from DSM Copolymer in Addis, LA. He loved to travel and spend time with family. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements made with Church Funeral Services and Crematory, Walker, LA.


Lester Wayne Johnson Sr. (1962 - 2020)

Lester Wayne Johnson, Sr., a resident of Port Allen, LA, went to be with the Lord and Savior surrounded by his family on Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at the age of 57. He was born in Brusly, LA on November 25, 1962 to the late Adele Johnson. He leaves to cherish his memories devoted wife, Lynell Johnson of 30 years; one son, Lester Johnson, Jr.; one daughter, Courtney Johnson; granddaughter, Kinsley Prean; a loving sister, Patricia Johnson and one aunt raised as a sister, Linda (Edward) Elmore. Visitation Friday, January 10, 2020 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm, Hall Davis and Son of Port Allen, 1160 Louisiana Ave., Port Allen, LA. Visitation continues Saturday, January 11, 2020 9:00 am until religious service at 11:00 am, Union Baptist Church, 743 Gwin St., Port Allen, LA. Rev. Johnny Johnson, Jr. officiating. Entombment Heavenly Gates Cemetery of Baton Rouge, 10633 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA. Services entrusted to Hall Davis and Son.
